The Danish Defence Intelligence Service is tasked with three main responsibilities: being Denmark’s foreign and military intelligence service, being responsible for the military security service, and being the national IT security authority, a task which is performed by the Centre for Cyber Security.

In its capacity as intelligence service, the primary task of DDIS is to gather, analyse, and provide foreign intelligence of importance to Denmark and Danish interests. The purpose of this is to provide the intelligence basis for Danish foreign, security, and defence policy and create the basis for DDIS’ participation in the prevention and countering of threats against Danish interests.
